LOGOGRAPHERS. Oder – a flow of ideas
– The LOGOGRAPHERS. Odra – a flow of ideas project is organised
by the Opole Contemporary Art Gallery.
– Covers a study stay and an exhibition
between 23 July and 24 August 2014 (final
dates shall be determined after the completion of the recruitment).
– Artists
from Germany and the Opole region are invited to submit
applications.

“LOGOGRAPHERS” is a cyclical project entailing
artistic cooperation between artists from various parts of Europe and the local
Opole community. The first edition of the project took place in 2013. The
title of the project and its main conceptual axis refer to the Greek
logographers. They were the first chroniclers who, in ancient Greece, collected
stories and legends from far-away lands and used them to build their narratives.
The
Opole Contemporary Art Gallery once again invites domestic and foreign artists to work together to
capture the Opole genius loci, with
particular attention paid to the river – Odra – flowing through the heart of
the city. In order to gain deeper knowledge and understanding of the river and
its impact on the city the project participants will travel from Frankfurt and
der Oder to Opole. In this way the Odra River will become not only a
theme and an inspiration for the works of the “contemporary logographers”, but
also a place of artistic actions, a space of free flow of ideas between the
project participants and recipients.
During the cruise, expected to last
approximately six days, the artists travelling on the barge will engage in
artistic endeavours, referring freely to the activities of the logographers. The
form of the actions pursued during the cruse remains open. The communication can be achieved
using all modern art tools, with particular emphasis on those of documentary
character (photography, video, audio etc.).
After mooring at Opole the artists will
share their impressions of the journey, interacting with the local community
via various types of actions and interventions organised throughout the city. Referring
to the ethos of the ancient logographers, the artists will construe a
contemporary legend of the Odra River, creating situations that allow the
inhabitant of the city to share their stories and tales about the river.
The project will be summed up with an exhibition
at by the Opole Contemporary Art Gallery.

Die Oder – der Ideenfluss wird von der Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Opole organisiert.
– Es umfasst einen
Studienbesuch und eine Ausstellung in der Zeit vom 23.07.-24.08.2014 (die Daten werden nach Abschluss des
Bewerbungsverfahrens endgültig festgelegt).

Die Einladung zur Einsendung von Teilnahmebewerbungen gilt für Künstler
aus Deutschland und aus dem Oppelner Land.
– Die Einsendefrist für die
Teilnahmebewerbungen läuft am 22.05.2014

„LOGOGRAPHEN”
ist ein wiederkehrendes künstlerisches Kooperationsprojekt für Autoren aus
verschiedenen Teilen Europas und der lokalen Szene des Oppelner Landes. Die
erste Ausgabe des Projekts fand im Jahr 2013 statt. Der Titel und das
Kernkonzept des Projekts beziehen sich auf Logographen, die ersten
Geschichtsschreiber im antiken Griechenland, die bei ihren Darstellungen auf
Überlieferungen und Legenden aus fernen Ländern zurückgriffen.
Die Galerie für
Zeitgenössische Kunst in Opole lädt wieder Künstler aus Polen und dem Ausland
zur gemeinsamer Arbeit ein, deren Ziel die Erfassung des Oppelner genus loci
mit einer besonderen Berücksichtigung des das Herz der Stadt durchströmenden
Flusses – der Oder – ist. Um den
Charakter und den Einfluss des Flusses auf die Stadt näher kennenzulernen,
begeben sich die Projektteilnehmer auf eine Flussreise von Frankfurt an der
Oder bis nach Opole. So wird
die Oder nicht nur zum Thema oder zur Inspiration für das Schaffen der
„zeitgenössischen Logographen” sondern auch zum Ort der künstlerischen Betätigung, zum Raum des freien
Informationsflusses zwischen den Projektteilnehmern und den Projektempfängern.
Während
der circa 6 Tage langen Kreuzfahrt mit der Fähre werden sich die reisenden
Künstler schöpferisch betätigen und somit auf eine von ihnen frei zu
bestimmende Art und Weise an die Aktivitäten der Logographen anknüpfen. Die
Form des Schaffens während der Reise ist offen. Möglich sind Ausdrucksformen
mit Anwendung aller zeitgenössischen Kunstwerkzeuge mit einer besonderen
Berücksichtigung der dokumentarischen Arbeit.
Nach Anlegen am
Oppelner Ufer teilen die Künstler ihre Reiseeindrücke in einer direkten
Interaktion mit der lokalen Bevölkerung im Rahmen verschiedener Performances
und Interventionen in der Stadt aus. Auf dem Arbeitsethos der antiken
Logographen aufbauend entwerfen die Künstler eine moderne Oderlegende, indem
sie Situationen schaffen, in denen die Stadtbewohner ihre Geschichten und
Erzählungen über diesen Fluss teilen können
Die
Ausstellung in der Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst rundet das Projekt ab.

–
Projekt LOGOGRAFOWIE. Odra – przepływ idei organizowany jest
przez Galerię Sztuki Współczesnej w Opolu.

Obejmuje pobyt studyjny oraz wystawę w okresie 23.07–24.08.2014 r. (daty zostaną sprecyzowane po zakończeniu
rekrutacji).

„LOGOGRAFOWIE”
to cykliczny projekt polegający na współpracy artystycznej między twórcami z
różnych części Europy a lokalnym środowiskiem Opolszczyzny. Pierwsza edycja
projektu odbyła się w 2013 r. Tytuł projektu i jego główna oś koncepcyjna
odnosi się do logografów, pierwszych kronikarzy w starożytnej Grecji, którzy
budowali swoje narracje na podstawie opowieści i legend z odległych krajów.
Galeria
Sztuki Współczesnej w Opolu po raz kolejny zaprasza artystów z kraju i
zagranicy do wspólnej pracy, której celem będzie uchwycenie opolskiego genius
loci, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem przepływającej przez serce miasta rzeki –
Odry. W celu jej bliższego poznania i zrozumienia jej charakteru oraz wpływu na
miasto uczestnicy projektu odbędą podróż rzeką z Frankfurtu nad Odrą do Opola.
W ten sposób Odra stanie się nie
tylko tematem, inspiracją do działań „współczesnych logografów”, ale także
miejscem działań artystycznych, przestrzenią swobodnego przepływu idei między
uczestnikami i odbiorcami projektu.
Podczas
trwającego około sześciu dni rejsu artyści znajdujący się na pokładzie barki będą
pracować twórczo, w swobodny sposób nawiązując do aktywności logografów. Forma działań
podczas rejsu ma charakter otwarty. Możliwe są wypowiedzi za pomocą wszystkich
współczesnych narzędzi sztuki, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem tych o charakterze
dokumentarnym (fotografia, wideo, audio etc.).
Po
przycumowaniu do opolskiego brzegu artyści podzielą się wrażeniami z podróży,
wchodząc w interakcje z lokalną społecznością w trakcie różnego rodzaju akcji i
interwencji na terenie miasta. Odwołując się do etosu pracy starożytnych
logografów, artyści będą budować współczesną legendę Odry, tworząc sytuacje, w
których mieszkańcy miasta będą mogli dzielić się swoimi historiami, opowieściami
o tej rzece.
Podsumowaniem
projektu będzie wystawa w Galerii Sztuki Współczesnej w Opolu.
